Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you?

We are located at 215 Village Square Shopping Center, between CD Reunion and Amighetti’s, across the street from Concentra Medical. The shopping center is located on Lynn Haven, just off Lindbergh and I-270 in Hazelwood (north St. Louis County). Please note: GPS and MapQuest are not reliable. Please call for directions.

What exactly will happen during my massage?

After your therapist leads you to your room, he or she will step out so you can disrobe and get settled on the table. When she returns, you can discuss areas of concern for the massage session. A typical massage covers the whole body, except the breast and genital areas, with extra attention to problem areas. If there are areas that you prefer not to have worked on (ticklish feet, don’t mess up my hair!), please mention them.

Wait, did you say disrobe?

Your massage will be most effective if you totally disrobe. If you are uncomfortable with this, you may dress down to your level of comfort. Please note that this may cause your massage to feel incomplete.

How’s the pressure?

We will ask for feedback during your massage experience. Please speak up. People are very different in their tolerance for pressure, so don’t assume we will know. We do this for a living, but you are the best expert on your body. Don’t suffer in silence.

Why am I sore the next day?

Some people experience some discomfort after a massage, especially if you have not had a massage in a while or have requested deep pressure. This should dissipate within a day or so, and can be helped by ibuprofen or a hot shower. If it is especially bothersome, you might try more frequent massages or slightly less pressure.

How often should I get a massage?

This depends on your situation, but usually once or twice a month is beneficial for most people. We would love it if we could solve all your stress once and forever, but since you will probably be back to your computer, picking up your kids, etc., you will probably need more massages.

What time is it?

Please plan to arrive approximately 10 minutes early, so you can take a few moments to relax in our comfortable waiting room, to transition from your busy day. Late arrivals for any reason will have their treatment time shortened accordingly, so as not to inconvenience the next guest. No adjustment in service price will be made.

What should I bring?

Yourself.

Means of payment (cash, Visa, MasterCard) – sorry, no personal checks. If you are have a gift certificate, Groupon, or coupon, please bring it with you. We provide robes, slippers, and towels. As Jacuzzi's are individual and private, no bathing suits are required.

What’s the deal with tipping? Aren’t I already paying for this?

Many service industries, including spas, have traditionally relied on tips as a way of expressing gratitude to your practitioner for a job well done. Since we are paid based on the services we provide, our income is variable during slow times. Since expenses are not variable, tips can help us get through. While some spas have chosen to add a “service charge” (really a tip) of up to 25%, we prefer not to do this. We don’t want to dictate the amount, since you know best about how happy you are with your service. Similar to restaurants, 15% is customary for adequate service, 20 – 25% for exceptional service. Please consider tipping based on the full service price, before any coupons or discounts. After all, your practitioner spent just as much time and worked just as hard as if you were paying full price. For instance, a one hour massage and Jacuzzi would typically be $85, so a 15% tip would be $13, a 20% tip $17, and a 25% tip $21.
